The home charge point we install.

Fox ESS L Series EV Charger, Installed

The home charge point we fit is the Fox ESS L Series L07PMC. It comes from the same manufacturer as the batteries and inverters we install, so solar, storage and car charging can be designed as one system.

Below are the manufacturer's published specifications, what Solar Linkage and Dynamic Load Balance do, and what we check before fitting.

Specifications

The L07PMC is a single-phase home charger.

  • 7.3 kW, 32 A
  • 5 metre tethered cable, with a 6 metre option
  • IP55 and IK08 rated
  • Operating range -25°C to 50°C
  • 197 x 196 x 105 mm
  • Mifare RFID access
  • OCPP 1.6 JSON and 2.0.1
  • Solar Linkage and Dynamic Load Balance

Solar Linkage

Solar Linkage lets the charger work with your solar generation, so surplus electricity can go into your car rather than out to the grid. How much of your driving it covers depends on your roof, the season and when the car is at home.

Exact behaviour depends on the combination of equipment fitted, which we confirm when designing your system.

Dynamic Load Balance

Dynamic Load Balance lets the charger reduce its output when the rest of the house is drawing heavily, helping keep the total within the capacity of your supply. It is one reason we check the incoming supply and consumer unit before installation.

Tethered or untethered

The L Series is tethered, with the cable permanently attached. That suits a private driveway where the car parks close to the charger. If the charger would sit further from the car, the 6 metre cable option or a different location may be better, and we discuss this at the survey.

Planning

From 21 October 2026, SI 2026/1056 extends permitted development for EV charge points in England beyond off-street parking. Limits include a maximum height of 1.6 metres, a maximum projection of 0.2 metres from a wall, 1.5 metres of footway clearance, one outlet per curtilage and a maximum volume of 0.2 cubic metres. Conservation areas are excluded from the new route.

Our EV charger planning guide covers the detail.

Installation

We check your supply, consumer unit, cable route and charger location, then install and commission the charger and register the manufacturer warranty in your name. The installation is protected by an insurance-backed guarantee.

At your free home survey we check the roof, the electrical installation and the planning position for your property before proposing a system.
